I arrived in Chile this Wednesday, luckily just a day after a fresh foot and a half fell over the central Andes. Yesterday I skied from the Valle Nevado ski area into the Rio Cepo valley and then climbed back out to Curva 8 on the road.
Farellones.
Cerro Plomo at the head of the Cepo valley.
Complex terrain rears out of the Rio Cepo.
Good times. Message me if you're in the area in the next two months and wanna walk far.

Nice! I was hoping we'd see some updates from you while you were down there. Good luck in the comps and have a great time.
Great to see some reports from Chile. I'll never forget the curves on the road up to Valle Nevado ski area. Our last trip to Chile and Argentina was in 2007 and we have some great memories.
Will you be crossing over to Argentina during your visit ?

Keep the reports coming..... PNWBrit(Banned) and I will be in Portillo in September! Hoping for more and more snow.

Cem,
It is good to hear from you again. It's been awhile since your last posting. You should mention that you have been bicycling/skiing along the Andes. ;)
Nice shots, D. Was about to pick up the phone to get you climbing. Have fun down there, and please do post more snowy tidings from the south...
Looks awesome, keep sending us teasers for another rainy august day...
It's good to hear skier attitude is not hemisphere dependent!

We arrive in Santiago, Chile on August 18th and depart August 25th. This will be our third trip down there and we plan on following the snow. We hope to spend most of our time in Las Lenas if the conditions allow for the Marte to be open.
PM me and let me know if you thing our paths might cross.
Adios

It looks like Bariloche is the place to be at the moment. Still low tide in LL from what I hear.
