7:30 start, casual day to summit at 4:00, good snow all the way. From lunch counter we found the far right side skinnable most of way to Pikers before booting the last 400'. The mountain was fairly empty and we were the only 3 in 100% sweet buttery corn top to bottom of the chutes. The trail back is still mostly snow so we kept our boots on and left sneakers for pack ballast.

Nice rendition on a classic trip. Great Photos, too.
I notice a lot of the climber types tend to favor the South Butte route to the Lunchcounter (and I think the Rangers often recommend that route for fear that one might fall in a glide crack on the Crescent).
I tend to prefer skinning up the old trail route on the ridge west of the Crescent Glacier, as it seems many of the other skiers do.
So I was wondering if I might learn some new gem of wisdom if I inquired as to why you went via the South Butte rather than west of the Crescent?

Ron, I'd love to let you in our secret, but being an Adams virgin (something always came up) I followed my partners. Perhaps Cor or Ellen will have words of wisdom when they come back from their backpack. Looking at a mountain photo, I see how going west of the Crescent makes a lot of sense. Personally, I liked weaving amongst the rocks for the variations in volcanic textures and features.
