Colt and I hiked up to the moraine below Sahale Peak. The snow at the top, down along the arm was really fun. Slightly slushy, but not too slow. Weather was rainy and cold, but still a fun ski. We were able to ski all the way back to the car. The line from Cascade pass back to the car was a thin.
We took a picture on the hike up and barely figured out the right thin "chute" to go down. All the other chutes have waterfalls in them.

The road is open all the way to the trail head. There is snow on the trail at spots and about 3/4 mile before the pass it's almost all snow. Snow was soft enough to kick steps easily.

Sorry couldn't figure out how to post a pic.
nice!  I want to go there this weekend.  I've always wanted to do it in the summer, but I imagine it is just as beautiful with snow?  Is there so much snow that hiking won't be occurring there for a while?  Skinable all the way or are there steep sections?
