July 9-10, Marriot Basin Wendy Thompson Hut

James, Kristin, and I left Vancouver ~8:15 and probably started hiking around noon. The hike up is pleasent and fairly well marked (atleast until you're near the hut). The only sketchy part is a slippery creek crossing via downed trees, but we all managed to make it. We're the only people who stayed at Wendy Thompson that night, though two groups were camped out about 1 km away.

We got in a good run Saturday and I grabbed an extra one on Sunday morning. Got a few hundred meters of vertical out of it...looks like if you wanted to be a tad more adventerous, you could find some great summer lines. This was our first time there, so we played it safe. Attached are the vertical profile vs. distance, the route, and some photos. I'd be curious to know what the proper winter route is, as parts of it look like you have to cross some pretty serious av terrain to get to the cabin (being in a narrow uphill basin with large slide zones on both sides...). Cornice's are still a  danger.
