I've been looking at the west ridge of Columbia for a few years now after seeing John Scurlock's great winter shots. Hoping that our good snow pack was still sticking up there I talked Jeff Rich into giving it a go (after a coin flip) last weekend. Melted out choke points and no runout on the top snowfield led us to down climb a few spots, so the continuous ski descent still awaits, but we had a great time and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset. http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4087/columbiaskirt.jpg" /> http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/3244/jimskiscolumbia5.jpg" /> http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/9573/nwfromcolumbiasunset2.jpg" />
Great shots after a good adventure as usual, Jim.
Where exactly is Columbia Peak?

amazing photos as always Jim! did you get a view of Blanca Lake, Columbia Glacier, Kyes? I was wondering if that might still be a worthwhile ski this summer given the ample snowpack still up high.
