Risked 40% showers forecast to do Hidden Lake Peak and it paid off with favorable weather and great snow. Bob€™s first BC trip was a great intro to the non chairlift world.

Forest had lots of downed trees. If you go, there€™s one major jam about 1/2 mile in at sharp right-hand switchback. Look carefully for boot tracks going up in sparse young devils club to cut off the jam. Track gently because new erosion gulley could form here but there€™s no way to follow that section of the trail until it€™s cleared.

Basin was dirty low down, lots of debris midway €“ made for a good slalom course with melt pits, rocks, tree debris, etc. The upper trail platform was non-existent because there€™s so much snow so rather than heading over to the lookout we booted on up to peak. This route should be renamed TMFS, too many false summits. Kept going and going.

We found a nice granite outcrop to lizard around just below the summit, then climbed up for the look around.

Upper mountain was perfect corn. No runnels, no suncups, just soft and forgiving.
