Susan had never skied the mountain, Amanda and Dave hadn't ever been there, so off to Trout Lake!

Road blocked by snow/logs ~60% of the way up from Morrison to Cold Springs. Should melt out in the next two weeks or less; chainsaw required to get up to the campground. Complicated parking.

1-2' runnels and suncups to 2' in diameter below the Crescent. Skinned to the summit. Wind kept the snow icy on the way up, but we found soft snow from the summit to the car. Left the summit for the chutes ~2pm; good up top, great in the middle, slightly soft down low. Low traverse out of the chutes still goes; expect to do some uphill movement. Skied back to shoes at Cold Springs, where sensibly skiable snowpack ends.

Great day with fun partners!

Looks like the descent was way more enjoyable than the ascent.  ;)
