Arrived late afternoon to the road closed at 7900' on the south side. It may open Friday, latest ever. Skinned up through slush. The last 500' was in shade on my way up, and all shaded on the way down. The snow cooling gave me nice 1" corn to the parking lot camp for a great sunset and sunrise.
Did you camp at the end of the road too? Great views. 8)
- north side, sunset pic kinda unique ! I'm skiing the exact opposite, now (until it melts out). the other pic is typically the trail, this yr. a large snowfiled ! I've done it too, but camping is allowed only in campgounds.
I've even seen the ranger check a camper at 8 am.
