When I look at the Muir webcam, it sure looks like all the snow in the foreground and the middleground is distinctly brownish. And it's not just a pure color balance issue because snow in the near background (Cushman Crest I think) looks nicely white. Is that all because of dust from the the big Nisqually Cleaver rockfall?

I don't remember what it looked like BEFORE the big rockfall, but I do remember that when there was fresh snow up there a month or more ago, the foreground snow was definitely white.

If that is dust, and you've been there to see it yourself maybe you could answer this question: is it messing up the skiing? Did the dust extend to Paradise Glacier too?

Might be a little dust, especially on skiers right side, but I didn't notice anything while skiing. Paradise glacier is dust free and in great shape for skiing.
