Drove back Tuesday, this time in my car, to meet Jim and Eric. Found their vehicle, left a note and headed for Ellery Bowl. Fought my way across the dam in the stiff breeze, skinned halfway up and got spooked by the wind, raindrops, and thunderstorm forecast. Great skiing down. Meanwhile Jim and Eric were climbing and skiing Dana Couloir in perfect corn, but windy boulder hopping in the valley.  Overnight and in the morning we had mixed rain and snow at our 9900' car camp. Maybe today's a hot spring day, or Yosemite valley photo op with clouds.
hey Silas,  got any plans to ski around the Ritter/Banner area while you're down there?  that area looks like some amazing ski terrain.

- from a firsthand rpt a couple wks back, before the road opened. they said it was 23 miles of skinnin'. talk about a great slog ! Mammoth closes the Fourth; so its b/c for more turns. Saddlebag Lk has good access (if the road's open).
