June 19, 2011, Stevens Pass-Tye Mill Area

Got a hall pass for Fathers day and thought I would go get my first tour of the summer.   Weather was not optimal, drizzle with Fog.   Started skinning from bottom of Keir chair and got to the top of Tye in 30 min or so.  Ski pen. was 1-2 inches with some sun cupping depending on the aspect.  Fog/Cloud Deck lifted above us once we got to the Top of Tye and had some good visibility for the rest of the day.  One run down Tye, skinned up to Hogs and looked at the off loading ramp they are building for the bike park.  Talked about heading up to the top of 7th, but passed with signs of recent cornice failures off of Cowboy ridge.    Great run down Hogs all the way to the base, less sun cupping on that run.  Good to back on the snow but miss the great pow that was around early May.  Still lots of snow and should be able to tour in the Tye lift area into July.
