First day of summer! Skied up Ruth Mountain. Still loads of snow. Conditions are more like the end of May in a normal year. Drove to within 1/2 mile of the parking lot in a Subaru. Carried skis for about 1 mile up the trail, then crossed to the south side of Ruth Creek on avalanche debris and skied up the valley. Good skiing off the top on fast spring snow.
