Jesse and I climbed & skied Baker via the Squak glacier last Friday.   We were able to rally the truck to ~1 mile of the TH and set out at 4am. (4wd and high clearance is still useful)

A cloud deck hung around 6k' all day, making navigation near crag view a little challenging (up and down).

Above the clouds,  we enjoyed blue skies and calm conditions.

Jesse is a machine and stopped only twice on the way to the summit.  I attempted to follow suite, but bonked badly on the roman wall. (To the point of counting out my steps).

On the summit, we took a leisurely hour for rest, water, beer & lunch under warm sun and no wind.   We departed the summit around 2pm. There was about an inch and a half of fresh snow on the upper 1k', baked to smooth mashed potatoes by the afternoon sun.  Lower down, the Squak delivered perfect corn.  Below that, chowder.

We made it back to the truck around 5pm.  Thanks, for a great day in the mountains, Jesse!

Hey, was this is May or June?
