The early morning sun enticed Jan, Jeff and I to make the climb to Klahanne Ridge. Our goal for the day was to ski a couple of the chutes descending into the North Bowl.

At the top of the rather challenging 1,500 vf climb to the ridge line, we were greeted with some unexpected conditions. Although the south facing slopes we climbed were relatively clear and sunny, the north facing slopes were obscured by clouds and fog.  >:( This caused us to dial back our goals for the day.

After an extended break, we took advantage of a brief sucker hole to ski an enjoyable run down into the bowl. By the time we decided to head back up, we were again engulfed by the clouds. We climbed back to the ridge in pea soup conditions.

The south facing slopes continued to offer good visibility. We enjoyed the descent back to the road on great spring snow. We skied continuous snow all the way back to the car, amazing for mid-June.  :D

Here are a few pictures from our day;

   2. Jeff in the North Bowl
