Skied the Cannon Coulior on June 3rd solo. Quite the adventure in bushwhacking, enjoyable none the less. My ascent was up the all the blow down just off the eight mile road/stuart lake tr. The road? was a mess so I decided to break uphill sooner than later. I did find it on the way down in all its overgrown and washed out glory. Slow going pushed me to traverse to the north side and the objective rather than the summit. It's a truly aesthetic line from the road but probably better left for winter or earlier in the season. The line skied from top to 5200ish on mostly corn sans the lower 600 or so feet. The hike out was just as much fun as the hike in:) I took the ridge just skiers left of the line/drainage slowly traversing left towards my now favorite road in the cascades... The defunct road (back to sltr) is in bad shape and washed out as stated earlier. I finally got to use my whippet. In dirt but hopefully that counts.
June 7th was thankfully enchantments pre permit. Hiked to 5200ish with JR and camped on dry ground and left the rest of the ascent for the next day. A hike up and around the lake turned to skins for the ascent. A fun descent overall on good corn led to a nice walk on snow back to camp and eventually the car.

If you're referring to the road out from Cannon I'm with you. A true cascades experience. So close to civilization but so far:) Deep down I must revel in it. Squirrel is compliments of DC. It's always great to be able to escape the weather on the east side.
