May 28, 2011, Trorey Glacier, Mt Pattison Attempt

A trip to the blackcomb backcountry to take advantage of the lifts to get us into the alpine one last time this year. Some fresh wet snow on top of a crust on north aspects, only a slight refreeze overnight cause south aspects to be fairly mushy and (in our opinion) unsafe. We need some cold clear nights to firm things up. Interesting white birds feeding on exposed south facing slopes, any thoughts on what they might be?
