A quick tour up Silver Star today,  Started at 0700 and if we had not stopped for lunch and a visit, it would have been better.  It did not freeze, but it was firm enough in the morning for good turning, but by noon, it was still fun, but 4 in of ski penetration made for less blissful turning.  Post holing for the first 1000 or so.
Thanks for the TR. What trailhead did you start at? How deep is the snow up there at the moment? Haven't been up there since early April and am curious how the melt is progressing.

Thanks for the beta.  Planning a trip out there in a couple weeks and wondering which TH to start at...    any more info would be greatly appreciated!

We started at the Silver Star gate on HWY 20, there is plenty of snow, but as it melts out from the HWY it adds to the poast hole march. We were able to put our skis on about 1000 above the road.
