but relatively close. after 10 days and nights with no refreeze and 5 inches of hot rain, the skies cleared for a full day of perfect peel away in the sun. this gully still offers 1100 vert with a 40-45 degree pitch.

not bad for a very low snow year......................

So many lines in NY, NH, ME, VT besides Tucks, great to see you enjoying [and a knowing nod for your discretion].

so much stuff to see and ski. nice to be able to enjoy supportive corn snow  that never really goes, "past prime". ever. even south facing. show up at 9am, noon, or in the late afternoon and never get on it too late.

tomorrow will be downright delightful all day with a high temp of 70 degrees and full sun.

nice to get back on here and read great reports from west of the big river!

Every year in New Hampshire is a low snow year.
The annual summit total is something like only 250" but wind transportation is so dramatic that a single *centimeter* of new snowfall can create slab avalanches.
See addendum to article here:
http://app4.websitetonight.com/projects2/0/8/1/8/88180/uploads/TAR_2009-12_vol_28_no_2-_Shefftz_article.pdf
(And the avalanche that swept away a friend in the article was caused by only 2.6" of snow.)
