Peavine is a noticeable bump that looms above northwest Reno. On it you'll find great mountain biking trails, and if you're so inclined, some sweet spots for tire rolling -- from what I've heard, anyway. But the best part is is just off 395, there's a nice rubber-tire traverse that takes you through the beautiful gated community of Poeville and dumps you off at the top. Seriously, right at the top!
The south side of Peavine this time of year is bone dry (to some that is). But if you sniff around up there, you'll find good skiing on the north and northeast side of the mountain.
Norm and I skied three runs, one down the north side and two down the east side. Pretty good corn overall and great views from the top.
