On Wednesday I skied up the Coleman-Deming and down the Park Glacier, exiting out to the ski area at Heather Meadows. Shaded slopes above 4,000' still held good snow. The headwall was soggy by 11AM, and I skied down the Cockscomb to get around it. The Park yielded excellent sun-warmed powder.

I had to park my car 2 miles or so from trailhead. The Coleman was well filled-in, but not mindless! Ditto with the Park. Gliding out Ptarmigan ridge went surprisingly well--only 25 minutes of skinning during the 2 hour exit from the Park.

Thanks to Mark from Glacier for the ride back up Glacier Creek Road to my car--I owe you one!
This is the year for the Watson!  Sounds like a great solo day in the mountains.  How was the snow before and after the portals?  Settling into corn season soon?
