What an incredible day up on rainier...the Nisqually Chutes were just about perfect. Got to the top of the chutes around noon, snow was a little heavy right at the entry but the rest was hero snow, just a inch or two of soft spring snow over a bombproof base.  After we reached the bottom we knew the snow was going to stay good for at least a little while longer, so we hopped in the skin track that was already set (the first guys to ski the chutes also were heading back up for seconds)....skinned back up about 2/3's and then enjoyed more excellent snow.
I'd rather be skiing powder right now, but this wasn't bad at all :)
Nice, I'm jealous... we skied crusty slush in the fog below the Easton Glacier today.
Sounds like Rainier was the place to be...
