With the low snow year, there are few places near Innsbruck that still have enough snow to ski tour.  Today we fulfilled MSR (minimum struedel requirements) with an 800m tour up Gaiskoegel via Kuhtai ski area (still open for post Easter week tourists, with 2cm fresh on a 10cm base today.)  We could not ski above the gap below the summit, booted the final 200m to the cross.

The stop for apfel struedel in Gries on the way home was a pleasure.  I guess one's first struedel is like one's first love, as wonderful as I remembered the 2005 snack in Gries.

Hopefully we will find a nice tour in the Dolomiti in the next couple days, then home, where I hear the Sierra corn season will begin around May Day.  Or perhaps the Cascade powder season will continue?
Mr Wild. Any chance of some photos??

Sir, your wish is my command.....

For Silas, the Alps are where it's at.
The slopes are boney but the struedel is phat.
