April 17, 2011, East Venezia Spitz (Ortler)

Thanks to Matthaeus we had room reservations set for a week, so the adventure (and phenomenal weather) continued this day beginning with a van ride with our landlord to the snow at the end of the road around 2050m, three kilometers up from Pension Zufritt.  Grego had a Dynafit binding failure, so he sent us off at 9AM up the well frozen snow, sometimes requiring ski crampons.  As usual, we followed many other skiers to the summit, and then on the way down found another nearby peak we could enjoy alone.  The ski down was perfect corn.

Grego ended up repairing his binding easily at a nearby hotel, so he ascended Marmotte and on the way down got us a reservation at Martell Hutte for the next night.
