Enchantments Ski tour
April 22-23, 2011
Headed up Hook Creek early Friday. Started skinning up at c3300' after traversing into Hook Creek drainage. Skin with a little booting to Edwards Mesa with a ski down to Mesa Lake and a tour to summit Cannon Mt. Nice ski off with most the loose snow blown off by teh previous days winds.

Camped at Prusik Pass and in the morning skinned up McClellan. I'd been thinking of that north face for years. After laying a few turns on it I made a short ascent up Enchantment for the best turns of the day. Clear skies, light winds and sweet corn snow.

A powder stash then corn back to Shield Lake, with a skin back up Edwards Mesa for a 4000`snow descent. Top was powder, a middle spot was breaking crust and below c5300' great spring corn down to almost 3200'
Nice and peaceful with no-one in the Enchanments -Did see boot/snowshoe tracks from buddies that came out the day before.

Fantastic images and TR. The full report at NW Hikers is great. I've only been in the Enchantments in the late summer and fall and your detailed routes/images provided a great perspective. Thanks.
