Ever since Monika and Dave reported their ski tip to the NE couloir off Roosevelt, this trip seems to have become fairly popular. We skied the North slope of Chair in dry April powder (~6") down to Snow Lake. The air was cool, but the sun was intense causing many sloughs off rock faces around. Getting onto the upper slope of Roosevelt was a little rough. The new heavy snow layer was easy to peel off underneath. There were two tracks, probably from a day before.
The steepish couloir entrance had some wind deposit, which turned out pretty local and stable. The rest was still filled with 6~10" of dry powder in shade. It is a beautiful rock-walled valley for powder harvest.
A quick loop around Roosevelt brought us back to Gem Lake divide. A bit heavy snow down to the Snow Lake. The Source Lake basin was by now in shade and starting to freeze a little. My Charger did pretty well here, I think.
A great tour with nice ski options, a good alternative/extension to Chair Peak circumnavigation. Thanks Paul, Rich and Daryl for being great companies.

Sooo rad. Keep those photos coming! Furthermore, I'd love to have a 1920 x whatever sized images in 72 dpi for use as a desktop. It will be painful to look at while at work, but it will be inspiring.
