I noticed a brief weather and stability window that looked like it would last until about noon on friday. As I had to be at work by noon, that seemed like it would work out just fine.

I scratched my head and checked my list for north facing objectives close to home. The north face of North Twin would fit the bill just fine.

A 2am wake up led to a 330am start to our hike.

The skin track was pretty spooky. You're totally exposed to anything that happens on the north face as you go up. Further, it looked like the snow would take any shock we could put on it, but that the forecasted warming later in the morning might cut the whole thing loose.

The snow was amazing, a perfect layer of wind buffed pow that allowed for high speed turns and relatively efficient skinning. Definately one of my best runs of the year.

... oh yeah, and I was only 1.5 hours late for work  ::)

There is a more complete writeup/more photos on my own website here, otherwise, thanks for looking.
Nice tag! Some of that snow looks amazing.

Very nice. I love that run and the views from the top.
