Between the class I had been taking and the weather, Jane and I had not been back to Sasse Ridge until this last Thursday - Friday. We were lucky once again however, and had a pleasant ski in. See the pic  below showing the coyote track. The skiing early Friday morning turned out to be quite nice. The recent storms have returned the snowpack to a relatively normal depth, and all the big treewells are largely filled in, at least above where we camp at 3800 feet. The 'frontside' above the road is quite nice now, with a lot of the smaller trees covered. It's not as open as it was a number of years ago, but it's still quite skiable in a number of directions.

I didn't see that much to photograph that I had not done many times before, so instead I took a few pictures of some stuff in my tent as I was melting snow for water. Here's a link to the pics, with brief descriptions of what I had in mind.

Jane took some nice pics, and maybe she will post an album too.

Here are a few views of my tent area and a couple hints about how I do things.  Not as neat as Larry, but it works for me.

Thanks Jane,

Boy Larry, you have it dialed. I'm impressed.

I have a little coffee pot like that but I never thought to wrap the handles. (They do get hot.)

Snow camping as performance art.  ;)

Thanks Lowell,

It helps to be boarderline obsessive complsive.  At least the obsessive part of it.  :)

I used jute cord by the way. It won't melt, stays fairly cool. You do it the same way you serve the end of a line or sheet used on a sailboat. I also did the same to the lifter ring on the lid. All of this saves melting holes in the liner gloves, of which I have a collection with various size holes.
