Skinned up to Norse Peak out of the Crystal backcountry today. The weather forecast ended up wrong, with mostly cloudy being replaced with completely bluebird. We had excellent skiing on mostly north-facing terrain and found roughly 4-6" of light fluff on top of a very supportive, yet carve-able crust. We saw no signs of instability on north facing terrain, however the snow on top of the crust liked to sluff. By the time we were done, most of the north facing lines had been tore up or sluffed to the crust.
On the descent back to the resort, everything in the sun was cooked, gooey, and sluffy. The skiing was still good until the last 1000 feet, however.
