March 17, ONP Steep and Icy

Second largest amount of snowfall recorded at Hurricane for March since 1998!
I slogged in a track out to the end of the parking lot Thursday through 3 feet of deep and dense snow. Flat light made it difficult to navigate through huge cornices even on the road. I was determined to come back Friday morning and take advantage of my efforts for some turns.
Friday morning we were greeted by blue skies and spectacular views but incoming squalls with blowing snow, fog and horrible visibility thwarted our plans for a more satisfying turns. I managed to take a few shots of the epic dump. I always wondered if "Steep and Icy" could ever slide. Guess what? It can!
