The gapers* at the National Weather Service had promised inclement weather for today, putting out a Snow Advisory initially for 4am Sat to 4am Sun, then revised to 11am Sat to 4am Sun. Both times were wrong.

We arrived at Meadows at 9ish to grayish overcast sky but perfect visibility. Coverage was reminiscent of Halloween (as AndyP had advised the day prior) but snow conditions were not. We skinned to the top of the short face that rises above Cascade Express following "Vista/Cascade Ridge", de-skinned then skied a short pitch to the top of the Cascade lift. This yielded mainly windblown pow with a bit of funk to it. Another lap ensued this time descending to the top of 2 Bowl. Skiers left of 2 Bowl contained breakable crust but a short strip on skiers right of 2 bowl contained some very nice pow. We took two more laps in 2 Bowl then descended thru the shrubbery and breakable crust to the car. The only adverse weather of the day was a bit of wind on Vista/Cascade Ridge, visibility was perfect allowing us to see the top of WyEast face most of the day. The day was topped off with a visit to the Taco Shop in Government Camp. Mmmmmmmmm

Aaron in the 2 Bowl freshiez:

A fun day despite the lack of Ullr :-)

* I mean that as a term of endearment
