Should NWAC Telemetry Outages be reported? was created by Jeff Huber
The lower Timberline telemetry has been out for almost a week. Should I send an email to make NWAC aware of this? I suspect the answer is no but thought I'd ask.
Good question, Jeff.
The Chinook Pass and Sunrise stations have been out for months. I'd suspect the pros know all about the outages; but that's only an assumption, I really don't know. I'll bet there's someone out there that does, however.

I get the impression that they know. The "caveat lines" on the individual pages are specific and change to reflect the data shown. In addition, at this time of year there would seem to be little doubt that the forecasters there are using the telemetry pages as part of their data collecting. I have notified them about problems several times in the past and it has never seemed to be a surprise to them.

In case you are still reading this thread I thought I would say that we are generally quite aware of equipment problems and do what we can about them. We are an office of 3 persons that do the weather and avi forecasting and maintain about 3 dozen weather stations.
