Skied Yodelin today and found lots of boot to calf-deep powder. Stability was fine though we didn't poke around too much or play on any steep slopes. Saw evidence of some natural slabs in cross-loaded pockets in gladed terrain on the S side of Skyline as we drove in. Weather was COLD and cloudy with sunbreaks, then more snow coming in later in the day. A handful of groups were touring around the area but it wasn't hard finding fresh lines. Five laps and back to the car by 3pm. Great day, now to sit back and watch what happens tomorrow! Or maybe go ski inbounds :)
Yep, we were there too. Great conditions and lighting. A little on the chilly side when you stood still. It was cold enough that one of my two video cameras stopped working but the other one hung on for a few segments. The snow depth was noticeably lower this year - many more trees sticking up.
Here is a brief video to highlight the tree skiing in over a foot of powder.

This video from last year shows the difference in the coverage (for those who were there today and where dodging trees):

Hey Fresh. Good talking to you at the bottom of the old growth a couple times (I was in the party of 7 that included the WAC connection). My decision to ski inbounds today was clinched by seeing a ~2 foot deep, 7 foot wide slab break in a small dip below the upper lift tower on the way out Saturday. Slid on the crust layer. The skiing was incredibly good.
