All the snow from a week ago was gone from Steven's Pass. But there was 6-8 inches of new. Enough to skin up the road, but certainly not enough to ski down. Luckily around 4600ft, there was enough old snow to provide a base for good road skiing. Anyway I was able to make a few runs off the north side of heather ridge. 6 inches powder on top of nasty old rain crust, dodging trees, fallen logs, and huge bolders. Most amusing.
