Got started around 730AM, quite chilly, especially in the east wind. We found nice settled 12-16" powder minimally affected by the wind on NW facing slopes. First USA ski tour for my friend Alfred from Innsbruck, at the end of the day he wondered why I come to Europe when I have such great snow at home. When we got to Preston for Apfelstrudel and they had none left, he understood my Euro fascination.
