Crystal - 02/23
« on: 02/23/11, 04:48 PM »

Very nice day, not as deep as yesterday, a lot more folks tracking it up early, not as much new snow during the day, but all in all a very very big fun day.  Good vis most of the day, some sun, some snow fall, lots of nice pow, cut pow, and packed pow.  Lookin forward to more of it all again tomorrow.  ddk

Two of my runs were dedicated to you today Joe in recognition of how much we missed you.
Thanks for taking one for the team.
Could be some great BC action by the weekend.

Awesome Karma going on here. I'm certain it's gonna pay off for Joe over the next week.

Ditto DDK's report on the day. Not as deep as yesterday, but certainly more user friendly wherever you went. And getting to lap Southback multiple times definitely added to the Nirvana.

See you all tomorrow  Grin

Although we endured the "you shoulda been here yesterday" talk on the chair, today was excellent as well.  We were still finding knee deep untracked at 2:00.  That was done poking some lines I haven't done in a long time.  Well worth it.  My vote, a Wow day.  Found the Frontside deeper and lighter than Campbell Basin.  Southback opened late when were were back on Rex, probably very nice.  More:

They got the new Gondola buckets mounted and tested, hauling weights all morning, and opened 1.5 hrs later than forecast.  We got bucket 17, the last of the old ones.  They do come faster, a welcome addition.

Dumping snow when we left and on the road home.  Weirdly snowing hard and accumulating on the road in Maple Valley, dry and sunny in Renton.  Just heard 410 was closed at Mud Mt Dam due to accidents.  Was some nasty icy snow there this morning on the way up.

While there were more people there I can attest that the skiing was much better today, but it sucked in general  Wink.

Great skiing with you Scotsman.

Sorry it was you, but thanks for uncovering the rock in Banana Chute, as I would have taken the same line.  Good from there down, however.
What did you think of Left Angle?  We were heading that way till Ski Patrol said it wasn't so good down low.

Face shots at the top as you can see in the video. Fine all the way down frankly although I was on my guard for sharks at the very bottom. Traverse out is in fine shape and fast.

Sounds painful. Hopefully we will be able to keep up with you when you get back with those regenerated knees.

I'll dedicate all my runs to Joe, they were great.

I dedicated my two runs BEFORE I skied them. Post dedication of runs just isn't the same.
Just saying!
