Micro conditions TR for those going out -- south facing slopes had a light crust on top of an inch or two of loose snow, which was itself on top of an inch thick bullet-hard crust.  Due to equipment (manmade and biological) malfunctions, we barely made it halfway up the stump, so that's what we got to ski.

On any slightly northerly aspect (even just in the shade of the trees) the snow was light, dry and not crusted.  Shaded slopes, especially up high, are probably fantatastic right now.
I found fantastic conditions on North facing slopes yesterday, fast dry boot top powder and at the pass too with no other tracks in sight, what a joy it was.

Note: As I'm sure you are all aware there was a lot of surface hoar buildup recently too and the pass has received at least 12" now so be careful - this one came in cold so that hoar will remain in place unlike previous storms this winter.

NWAC notes that Alpy patrol reported multiple 12 inch deep slides, many apparently releasing even just as a slope is approached.

How's that xmas tree farm doing, Marcus? Are we getting enough depth that it's not just maddening to find a path through the maze?

Man, it is thick in there.  We need a lot more snow for it be skiable outside of a skinny pathway into the older growth.  As is, it's gotten so thick that it takes a really good year for it to be good down low, and this year ain't it so far.
