7" on the ground. Forget the rock skis, bring something with wheels.

I'm pretty sure ema was talking about Hwy. 20/Washington Pass...
Elevation: 5477ft / 1669M

Temperature: 28ºF / -2ºC

Conditions & Weather:
Compact snow and ice on roadway // Broken clouds

Restrictions Eastbound:
Traction Tires Advised, Oversize Vehicles Prohibited.

Restrictions Westbound:
Traction Tires Advised, Oversize Vehicles Prohibited.

Updated: 11:59 AM, Nov 19, 2004

Michael Fagin reports 16 inches coverage at Rainy Pass. As pointed out by Highway 20 expert sb, this suggests less coverage at Washington Pass...but possibly good skiing around Heather and Maple (where I've skied in similar conditions: www.turns-all-year.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB...splay;num=1032244756).
Sorry I didn't learn this in time to be of much help, Ema, but conditions are probably better up in my neighborhood anyway. Hope to see you.
