29-30 January 2011, Mt Carr

An overnight trip to Burton Hut with Sunday ascent of Mt. Carr. Lots of distance to cover for the amount of vertical but a great ski mountaineering trip. Saturday did not look promising but Sunday turned out far better than forecast. Did not see anybody past Garibaldi Lake campground and had the hut to ourselves (a bit of surprise).

Snowpack:
Stability was good, nothing was moving, the W face of Mt Carr was super solid, ski cutting produced nothing. Observed a single 1.5 natural release from S facing rocks on our way down.

Hut was found and left in good shape (except for an unwashed pot with frozen oatmeal  ). Also closing the door is hard from outside.
