Where to go around Mazama/Winthrop? was created by morr4925
Gonna be over there next weekend and have been dying to do some bc skiing over there. Anybody know of any good places to ski. I know several forest service roads that could bring me to some decent skiing. But where can I find the standard bc skiing locations? Thanks for your help.

Go as far as you can go up 20 then start climbing. Beer for a tow in from a local might work.

I was out there last weekend. Conditions up high were excellent (above the hairpin at WA Pass and Hart's), but you pretty much need a sled to get to out there. Lots of snomo-skiers in the Methow though, so if you go to the Mazama snopark early you can probably wrangle a tow in. Bring your own tow rope and some beers as currency and you'll greatly increase your chances.

Thanks for the tips! Hopefully I can get a few runs in this weekend.

And while I did not find the search function previously while exploring this website, I will say that people who tell people to look something up because it was posted previously make me laugh. Sorry to inconvenience you by adding another thread that you have to scroll past. That is all.

The search function is at the top of the page.

Perhaps SB was not expressing inconvenience but trying to help you find an easy answer to your question. Search on "Methow".

Yea. I saw the search link after posting originally. Anyway... there was some fun skiing in the hills outside of Winthrop.
