Managed to get two different mountain ranges in two days. Found low visibility except when low in the basins at Hurricane. Rode out past Idaho Bowl and lapped Short Swing and Avalanche lines (Poma was closed). Snow was a dusting on top of a crust. Never saw the sky or interior ranges. Having never been to Hurricane before I'd love to be there on a good snow day.

Made it to Rainier on sunday for a blindfolded (read: socked in) approach to Mazama. Lapped the front side of Mazama to 4th Crossing in soft but heavy new snow. Lots of sluff starting to roll on the south facing aspects although most of the holes have now filled in. Coverage at Rainier remains great despite the recent rain. Seemed like much more new snow than the telemetry and NWAC suggested... ?
Good combo; it's good to hear there was fresh at Paradise Sunday too.  Saturday we saw huge variations in snow depth, e.g. many creeks were open and uncovered but wooden bridge crossings were buried 8 feet deep.

I wonder what it would be like to ski in BOTH the Olympics and the Cascades in ONE day?     :)       hopefully with better vis.
