To heck with the warm temps and rain - decided to throw on the rally cap and get up anyway... and got some decent payback!

Decided to head up Commonwealth Basin and check things out from there. Rain turned to snow at 3600' (right around the Commonwealth Creek crossing)... by 4100' all trees had snow on them again and things felt a little better in the world.  :)

Continued up to the ridge between Snoqualmie E summit and Lundin... by 4400' there was a couple inches new... by 5000' and the rest of the way up to the ridgetop it was 7-10".

The ski down was fun but touchy... very easy to get the new snow moving above the crust layer. Most of the way down, every turn would kick off a new slough. Most wouldn't move far, although a couple times saw a decent 50 yard run or so.

Definitely worth the rally cap to get out and validate that winter still exists up there! Phew.  :)
