Headed up to the pass with Silas for the day. Blue sky appeared over Hyak, so we went there first and made a scratchy lap on the dusty crust. Then he kindly let me talk him into a silly line that I've been pondering for years but never had conditions in which it might be better than other choices.
SSW facing reflector oven at ~4k got corny, then heavy during our descent at ~12:30. Tree bombs had triggered tiny wet slabs in the top 6", but all the tiny tree rollers we saw mid-day just rolled on by. We both buried ski tips in the heavy snow on the descent. Sluffs didn't grow. Not sure about corn prospecting tomorrow; may be corn atop goo.
Skied Alpy 2:30-5. Sunny snow up top was fun-ish. Smooth and icy after sundown on the frontside.
Thanks for a chance to put that line to bed (mostly).
