Memories....I'm bored, and watching rain pour off the porch roof ,so posting a TR seems like something that brings a bit of pleasure and remembrance of the great skiing last week. Everyone remembers the conditions over those few days: powder of various depths, morphing to recycled powder, on the previous rain crust. Will we find the same thing next weekend???
Noteable conditions:
Still need more snow around Pass level to cover dense alder patches.
Like others reported, bonding of the new tended to be good on the crust. Sunday we sent a couple decent sluffs on the steeper slopes (>35 degree rollovers). They ran on the interface of the snowfall (~6") from Friday 1/7, with the snowfall of Sat 1/8 (~12 to 16"). Once moving, it often scoured the path down to the crust. None of the sluffs and ski cuts ever broke slabs free, just started from a point under our skis.
By Tuesday it seemed quite stable.
Was hoping for precip to come with tomorrow's cooling but now it is sounding pretty dry. Maybe a sneaking convergence in one of the passes???
