Mt Bachelor October 28, 2004
Early in the morning I went to Mt Bachelor, South Sister Broken Top and checked the snow condition. I went to trail head of Broken Top. There is enough snow to start to ski right there. Then I drove to green lakes trail for South Sister. There is not enough snow at the starting point. I need to hike at the valley for a while. It looks good snow at the top. So I went to Mt Bachelor. The road between Mt Bachelor and Todd lake trail has cover with snow but you can drive with out chain. They do not plow it this time of the year any more.
I started at Blue lodge 6400 ft and go up to 7700 ft first. Snow condition is very good in the morning. Mountain got fresh snow last two days. I ski to bottom of summit lift and climb to 9000 ft. Snow is fresh powder and no one was here. Lee and I ski this run. There are some hidden rocks. Because of snow is soft and powder you can hit them easily. If you come here bring your old skies.
