The wind compressed yesterday's heroic snow a little. Between the pass and 5000' was excellent 8-12" soft powder. The cooler temperatures added to the extra wind required us to keep moving all day. Even with accommodating trailbreakers, I could not skin as much altitude as them. We all enjoyed great turns anyway.

Nice Silas -- were you still touching down on the rain crust?

Nice Silas -- were you still touching down on the rain crust?

We felt the crust only when we were in steep trees.

Only when we were in the trees.

Well, crust kissing only happened to us down lower on Commonweatlh basin west facing . We found some stellar tree skiing Northwest  of Kendall lakes. Not anywhere as bad as reported on Saturday.

It was too cold to take many pictures, but here's one of Zach in a west facing slot between the trees at about 3,000'. Yesterday's ego snow has deteriorated to just excellent snow (in places). Nice navigation, Silas.
