Herman Saddle Dec 30

Decided for a lazy day out in the sunshine and set my goal for Herman Saddle.  Originally was thinking about Ptarmigan Ridge or Coleman Pinnacle, but most north facing slopes had visible slides and pretty large crowns from the past 24 -36 hours. 

Stayed in the sunshine up to the saddle, dug a pit and the column went at CT 27.  Powder turns all the way down to the lake and back down the other side heading toward the parking lot.  The second the sun went behind the ridge line, the temperature dropped immediately.  Thermometer in the car showed 8 F at 4pm.
