Dec 19, 2010, Cayoosh Mt.

Enjoyable ascent of Cayoosh Mountain via East Glacier. Weather was coming and going but we lucked out with an enjoyable 1/2 hr on the summit. Great views all around. Drama was provided with a single skicut on the way down, a size 2 avalanche. It was expected, avalanche.ca forecast specifically singled out N to NE facing slopes below ridgelines, especially when convex, for slab avalanche.

Skiing on the glacier was fantastic, lower down in the trees it was still good but more snow is needed for enjoyable and a little bit more care free tree skiing. Tree wells and rock wells still open (or covered but not filled) although slowly filling up and should be in better condition by now.
