The Mt. Baker ski conditions where at there finest with lots of snow and high wind gusts to boot.  We dropped a few runs down the lower front bowls of Hermans Saddle with very minimal sluffs.  The Rutschblock and Compression tests both showed a fairly stable snow pack in the area that we where skiing.  Our tests revieled a weak layer at 6 inches and 1.5 feet.  Surprisingly the 5 foot deep pit wall showed no large ice layers but a fairly well consolidated snow pack.
Remember kids when we play in the backcountry we must listen to what mother nature is telling us through our own snowpack analysis.

Would you consider getting an early start Thursday to renew your uptrack before I arrive?  I'm not getting any younger.

Thanks for the report.

Mark, as I remember, you pack a pretty good track with a fine eye for the most efficient route... you aren't that old compared to... Moses!

Heh heh.  Compared to whom?  Methuselah?  The name for that, Todd, is "damning with faint praise."  You'll get yours.
