December 9: Paradise

Arrived to much better conditions than expected, telemetry was reading around 10 new, but there was definitely much more in places due to high winds. The snow was quite heavy and we were soaked by the end of the day but it skied perfectly. Not quite the powder turns of a few weeks ago but still great conditions and one of my better outings. Prominant windslabs building and existing led to stability concerns. open areas were cracking, whumping from time to time and sliding if you really forced it. Didnt see any natural activity but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes today. Had a good reality check while breaking trail as evidenced in the photo. Great skiing was still had even with conservative terrain decisions.
