Just a brief (and temporary from the sound of the forecast) conditions report. There are many well-travelled shoer tracks into Commonwealth Basin. Snow on Red's west face was 1" crust, breakable while skinning and booting but not so breakable when descending. Some good pockets of windblown. Below the crust is unconsolidated, sugary snow. Creek crossings no matter the route are insignificant given low water flow and snow walls that aren't so big yet. The crust could be an avy factor once it is loaded. We'll see soon.
